Self-Reliance

Filed under: Personal — by teofilo @ 11:08 pm

I’m back in Albuquerque for a while.  My internship ended at the end of January, and while the park was pleased enough with my performance to want to hire me on for the summer season, that position won’t start until the middle of March or so, and I’ll need to wait until my background check goes through to get an official offer or anything.  Things are looking good on that front so far, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

So anyway, I’m back in Albuquerque.  I plan on doing some traveling during part of my six weeks off, but for now I’m just staying at my mom’s house.  Today I was remarkably productive; I unpacked my bags and did my laundry, taxes, and FAFSA.  I didn’t get around to going grocery shopping, so instead of making dinner I just reheated some leftover vegan posole (which has kind of become our staple dish lately).  Tomorrow I’ll have time to put more effort into dinner.

By the way, the front page of the local paper today had an article about Chaco.  Figures there would be a major breakthrough right after I leave.

  1. I’m really dreading the financial aid process, myself. But I’ll have to face the FAFSA sooner rather than later.

  2. I found it wasn’t so bad, actually. Not nearly as bad as I remember from undergrad.
