I’ve been looking around for things to do for the year between the program at Harvard this summer and the time I’ll probably start grad school, and as part of that I applied to a few of the internships offered by the Student Conservation Association in national parks. Today I heard back from one that I applied to at Chaco Canyon, and it looks like that’s where I’m going to be from August through January.

This probably would have been a better link.

So cool! That was one of the first (and is still one of the few) places I’ve ever been to in the Southwest, and it blew me away.

Yeah, it’s a fantastic place. I’m excited about being there.

Good times! I spent two summers in college working for the Forest Service through the SCA, and it was a great experience. Actually, now that I think about it, the first summer was through the SCA, and the second was a paid job in the same district, so it can definitely lead to real work. What are you going to be doing?

Visitor services, so basically staffing the front desk and giving tours. If anyone wants to come visit, please do.
