Checking In

Filed under: Food, Personal, Urban Living — by teofilo @ 4:25 pm

It seems those no-good fuckers at Starbucks, in league with the even-less-good fuckers at T-Mobile, have started to charge for their wireless, leading me to completely waste a couple bucks on their shitty coffee before I discovered a better coffee place further down the same block that has actual food in addition to free wireless.

In other news, UnfoggeDCon was delightful, I have no internet access at the place where I’m staying, and I’ll have to be heading back there soon, so I probably won’t be around online for another day or two.  Just so you know.

  2. After thinking it might be nice to spend less time online, I’ve come to the conclusion that not having home internet access really stinks. More importantly, I’m glad to hear you’re having a good time and I’m sorry, after wavering back and forth about going to the party, that in the end I was too sick to even consider attending.

  3. Teo, terrific fun to meet you. Hope you had fun at the NYE party as well.

I paid an embarassing amount of money for an hour’s worth of T-Mobile access at the train station. Even worse, it cut out on me three times. Good grief.

    Travel safely.

  4. (off topic: Witt, if you’re still wondering, as you were a few weeks ago, I’ve restarted blogging.)

  5. Thanks, everyone. It was great to meet you too.

As for the NYE party: let’s just say that asking for someone to call me 500 comments into an Unfogged thread may not have been the smartest move.

  6. Wait, what was the NYE party? What exactly happened?

  7. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it, but basically what happened is that certain blog-related people who reside in the District of Columbia told me at UnfoggeDCon about a NYE party being held by someone in their social circle and told me that they would let me know about the details (or add me to the evite or whatever) but then never followed up, which I didn’t realize until the afternoon of the 31st when I finally managed to access the internet. I then left this comment in the UnfoggeDCon party thread asking for one of these people to call me, but no one did and I ended up staying in for NYE.

  8. Thanks for clearing that up. (I just figured out now that you mean New Year’s Eve.)
