I’ll say. No fanfare, just the knowledge that you’re getting old. For me, the weird thing was that when I was a kid, I hadn’t really imagined being any age past 21 (it just didn’t occur to me), so it’s all unanticipated territory from here on out. A bit bizarre.
Happy Birthday. . .and, bad news. . .I just turned forty this summer, and this is about the only birthday that has had an impact on me since I was a kid (and not a positive impact either). So, there’s a real possibility that your next seventeen birthdays will also be anticlimactic.
Thanks, and no worries; birthdays aren’t really a big deal for me. I actually didn’t even realize this one was coming up until a few days before, and then I kept forgetting it was my birthday during the day. So I’m totally prepared for anticlimactic birthdays as far as the eye can see.
